Settlement Reports

A settlement report explains how the amount in a payout was calculated. Use it to reconcile a Two payout with the orders, invoices, refunds, and fees in your own systems.

You can download a report for an individual settlement or for a date range in CSV or XLSX format. A date-range report can include more than one settlement.

Start with these fields

For most reconciliations, you only need these fields:

To answerUse these fields
Which of our records does this row relate to?Merchant Order ID, Document Number
What was the order value?Net Order Amount, Tax, Gross Settlement
What did Two deduct?Total Fee or Total Fee Including Tax
What amount was paid out?Net Settlement Amount
Which bank transaction is this?Payment Reference, Settlement Date, Currency

Keep Merchant Order ID as your primary reconciliation key. It is the identifier you supplied when the order was created and is usually the easiest field to match to your order or invoice system.

Reconcile a payout

Work through the report at settlement level, rather than treating each row as a separate bank payment.

  1. Find the payout in your bank using Payment Reference, Settlement Date, and Currency.
  2. Filter the report to the same Payment Reference.
  3. Match each row to your records using Merchant Order ID. Use Document Number to identify the related invoice or credit note when needed.
  4. Add the Net Settlement Amount values for the matching rows. The total should reconcile to the payout amount for a net settlement.
  5. Investigate any negative rows before finalising your reconciliation; they generally represent a credit note or refund that reduces the payout.

How the amounts relate

For a typical net settlement row:

Gross Settlement = Net Order Amount + Tax
Net Settlement Amount = Gross Settlement − applicable fee total

For example:

Net Order AmountTaxGross SettlementTotal FeeNet Settlement Amount
8,000.001,200.009,200.00184.009,016.00

Some reports show Total Fee; others show the fee split into tax-exclusive, tax-rate, tax-amount, and tax-inclusive columns. When Total Fee Including Tax is present, use that as the fee total in the calculation above.

How to read rows

Each row is a financial event included in a settlement, not necessarily a unique order. An order can have more than one row when it has related financial events.

  • An invoice row adds value to the settlement.
  • A credit-note or refund row commonly has negative amounts and reduces the relevant settlement.
  • A manual-adjustment row includes an explanation in Manual Adjustment Comment.

Use Event Type to identify the event and Two Transaction Type for the corresponding Two transaction classification. Do not rely on a row's position in the spreadsheet: use the identifiers instead.

Why columns may differ

The exact columns in a report depend on the information available for the settlement and your reporting configuration. In particular:

  • Reports show either Total Fee or a detailed fee-tax breakdown.
  • Buyer-fee columns appear only when buyer fees apply.
  • Fields such as vendor details, buyer trading name, shipping address, line items, refund identifiers, and repayment-plan details appear only when relevant data is available.

Treat blank optional fields as unavailable information, rather than as an error in the report.

If a download has headers but no rows

A file with column headers but no data rows means no settlement-report entries matched the requested criteria. Check that the date range includes the expected activity and, for date-range downloads, that you selected the correct payout country.

Contact support

When contacting support about a report, include the Merchant Order ID, Settlement Date, Currency, and Payment Reference. Do not share bank-account details unless an approved support channel specifically asks for them.
